MERCi-Med Response

ABOUT US

MERCi-Med arose out of the need to provide easier access to people due to the state services becoming overloaded, and therefore without capacity to service all the ill and injured patients. To add insult to injury, the rising costs of medical aids, precipitated a number of people on medical aid to lapse their memberships due to unaffordability. This lead to a concern of how they would get to hospitals in emergencies. So 22 years ago MERCi-Med was born.

MERCi-Med is a subscription based service covering the costs of ambulance transportation to the nearest medical facility. All calls for help are placed through a 24hour control room.

MERCi-Med is on duty 24hours a day, 365 days a year, and residents and businesses can become members of MERCi-Med by paying a low monthly membership fee.
